Set Dec. Basics
Set dressing is a key component of making the scene, as well as the process of making your set or your scene seem real and lived in. It functions as a critical component of any high-quality production. A set designer and a set dresser focuses on the details of a scene. If you are doing your own set dressing, knowing the foundations of set design and set dressing will set you up for success. This course is designed to teach 5 basic skills or skill sets to advance within set dressing and help entry-level or third positions become efficient and productive members of the team.

Stagecoach Road Show - Gallup
Our Road Show training brings in top notch film professionals to teach students in Assistant Camera, Acting for the Camera, Sound, & Grip in a 2-day intensive. A screenwriting contest in the county will create a winning script which will be filmed on a 2-camera shoot, supported by Panavision for Arri Alexa cameras, dolly & track from Maleko Grip & Rigging, and set lights & electric equipment from Cinelease, ABQ. The winning Short Film will be screened in your community as well as at George R.R. Martin’s Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe.
The Art of the Cut: Bridging Hollywood and New Mexico
In this series of discussions, veterans in the world of Post-Production will share their experiences, advice, and pull back the curtain of Post-Production in the Film and Television Industry for all in attendance as part of Stagecoach Foundation’s ongoing work to create a post-production economy here in New Mexico.
Northwestern New Mexico Screenwriting Competition
Residents of Northwestern New Mexico Pueblo Communities, Navajo Nation, and counties are welcome to register and submit their stories for the chance to be chosen and it to become a short film made with industry standard equipment and by veterans of the Film & TV industry!
Reel Stories
In this unique and raw training, students will be learning how to use smart phone cameras to bring oral history to life on film and through documentaries facilitated by filmmakers Ramona Emerson and Kelly Byars. Students will learn about research, pre-production, interview techniques, lighting, and editing for filming in the field.

Film Prize Junior New Mexico Film Festival
The original competition is based in Shreveport, but is celebrating its inaugural year in New Mexico, welcoming students of middle school and high school age whether at private, parochial, public, or home school. Student Filmmakers will compete for digital media grants for their schools, as well as rewards for students and teachers.
Set Light Training w/ Ray Ortega, Gaffer IATSE 480
This first part of the Stagecoach Foundation Set Lighting series is a 3 part hands-on training course that provides students with film industry/work environment specific skill building, facilitated by film industry professionals. Each module builds on the next, from basic electricity, power systems, techniques and procedures with industry caliber equipment, to lighting crew positions, and set procedures. The course provides plenty of hands-on practice opportunities.
The Set Lighting Series is a contracted training with the New Mexico Film Office's Pre-Employment Training Program (PETP) in partnership with The local IATSE 480 union, Ray Ortega - Gaffer IATSE 480, Guillermo Mazariego of Cinelease, and Stagecoach Foundation, Inc.
