Set dressing is a key component of making the scene, as well as the process of making your set or your scene seem real and lived in. It functions as a critical component of any high-quality production. A set designer and a set dresser focuses on the details of a scene. If you are doing your own set dressing, knowing the foundations of set design and set dressing will set you up for success. This course is designed to teach 5 basic skills or skill sets to advance within set dressing and help entry-level or third positions become efficient and productive members of the team.
THIS IS A 2-Day Course which will be held at the Stagecoach Training Center.
Check-in will begin at 8:30 AM and the class will start promptly at 9 AM.
Complimentary lunch and craft services will be available each day.
Dress in layers as there will be indoor and outdoor elements to the training.
NOTE: New Mexico residency is a requirement. Once accepted to the course, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all relevant details 1 to 2 days before the class.
Meet the Instructor - Tenbears Souter, IATSE 480
Tenbears Souter has more than 15 years of leadman experience and a total of 17 years in set dec. He's taught three 5-week courses in the below the line crew training (studio institute global). He also holds certificates in MEWP, Basic Rope Rigging, First Aide, Basic Rigging Grip, OSHA 10, Fall Protection, General Safety, Hazard Communications, A-1-A2, HPI-HP2, Hand & Power tools as well as Job Steward Training and the New Member Orientation.
TenBears is also a TTF Certified Train the Trainer.
